2015
2015
The festival's 2015 theme, the Anthropocene, ran through the identity as an abstract, atmospheric proposition rather than an illustrative one: figures — one an astronaut in full suit — suspended mid-air or mid-fall against a gradient sky, dissolving from a dark treeline at the top into warm, cloud-heavy sunset tones at the base, evoking disorientation at a planetary scale rather than depicting it literally. The same sky-gradient system extended across the festival's full family of sub-programmes — CPH:INDUSTRY, its industry and business programme; CPH:LAB, its international talent development and training programme — each cropped to a different register of the same image, paired with its own typographic hierarchy.
The identity ran across the festival's full print output: the main catalogue, sub-programme catalogues, and a newsprint-style programme system organised by colour per section — coral for concerts, teal for exhibitions, and further tones for talks, VR:LAB, and the festival's other strands — alongside editorial spreads combining programme text with photography and film stills throughout the catalogue's pages. The identity also extended into the festival's physical venues, including Cinemateket's main hall, developed together with a separate team handling the spatial and environmental graphics side of the festival's production.
